Are you nervous about speaking in front of a group, presenting at work, or acing that job interview? Look no further!
Our warm and supportive club is here to help you improve your communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
We are a fun and supportive social club that works together to help each other grow and thrive in our communication, public speaking, and leadership abilities.
Our club members come from diverse backgrounds and possess a range of skills, just like you, we have members who work in: marketing, real-estate, education, public service’s, or who are retired and the list goes on.
We all started as guests, seeking a club that could support us in becoming more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders.
We invite you to attend a few of our meetings as a guest to see if our club is the right fit for you, and if we can help you with your public speaking goals. Our members include university students, young professionals, experienced managers, writers, and even a retired professor. Some members had their first experience speaking in front of a group at our club, while others are practicing for their wedding speeches, work presentations, or gaining confidence in speaking English as a second language. We also have experienced members who serve as mentors, providing valuable support to fellow club members.

WANT TO VISIT...  WHAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK?

A lot of new Toastmasters say that they've been meaning to join and wish they'd taken action sooner. Often it's our restrictive mindset which holds us back from doing something to improve a weakness or develop new skills we want to have. Some common restrictive mindsets include:
Fear of the first step:
"I'm nervous about arriving at an unfamiliar place, to meet a bunch of new people."

• It can be scary to make the leap, to go out of your comfort zone. At Toastmasters Concord Yaralla we go out of our way to make sure our visitors and members always feel welcome. 

Excuses: 
​"I'm too tired after work", "I've had a big week", "I'm not freeling 100% today", or "I have too much on at the moment"

• Busy people make time for the important stuff, and what's more important than investment in yourself? The Toastmasters program is designed to be completed over a long period but at only reasonably small commitment per month. If you follow the program you will see development immediately and because your skills layer slowly over time, your development will be more long-lasting.

Fear of the actual meeting:
"I'm nervous that I'll look silly or get stuck for words"

• At Toastmasters everyone is your cheerleader. People are at a range of levels, from absolute beginner, to advanced communicator. There is no pressure to speak when you visit a Toastmasters meeting. If you make a mistake, it is celebrated because you have had a go and are on your way to improving. 

Financial reasons.
​"I don't know how much it'll costs"

• Toastmasters is not-for-profit. It is free to visit our club. And there is no hard-sell to join. The costs of joining our club is less than 4 cappuccinos a month. Compared to a 1 day private public speaking course, Toastmasters is extreemly good value. Plus there are a bunch of other benefits.
• Transport:
  ​"I don't know how I'll get there and back"
• There is plenty of parking. The bus stop is at the front. And other members drive, so you may find someone lives near your house which you can catch a lift with.
• Do you have a restrictive mindset? If so, recognise it, then take a stand to make a change for your own self development.
